Saturn Return Can Bite Me

My mom's birthday is today...and always on or around Mother's Day. Every year she throws a "Nobody loves me, everybody hates me, guess I'll go eat worms, PROVE YOUR LOVE TO ME RIGHT NOW AND GIVE ME A PRETTY PRETTY PRINCESS DAY" ginormous fit on Mother's Day.

She already threw this fit all morning on Friday when my aunt didn't bother to call her back all day about her birthday. I am so not looking forward to tomorrow. I bought her a lot of jewelry and one hand made gift (and sent a cookie bouquet earlier in the week, which she loved), but is that enough to fend off the WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH storm? Hah, nothing is enough for that.

It isn't comforting to read the astrology of this Mother's Day.

I face a similar quandry with my own mom. If I asked her, I’d likely get the stock mother’s answer “You don’t need to get me anything.” This is a lie, of course, for all the reasons we know are true, not the least of which is that the Moon will be in Leo tomorrow. If we don’t do something big and showy, we are likely to suffer. But what to get remains the question. What would she like?

I'm not all that into the asteroids most of the time (I'll pay attention to a few major ones like Juno and that's kinda it), but I was looking up stuff about Sedna and well, found some stuff. It's OF COURSE on my seventh house cusp/Sun/Chiron conjunction...I should really just call that the conjunction of OW. And draw some kind of big stabby knife over it on my natal chart.

Sedna is the place where our parents fail us. They fail to teach us, either because of their own flaws or lack of knowledge or inattention to our needs how to navigate that area successfully. It is the place where because we lack a base of knowledge to work from, we are blind. We can not put into perspective the issues Sedna touches off in our chart. With work, we can transmute our understanding of this area, but it will always be a place where we experience loss and betrayal.

"Sedna in your chart is where your parents or other caretakers failed to teach, leaving you with a spot in your life where it is like you are walking around in the dark, stumbling into the furniture.

As a preliminary definition, this is how Sedna appears to work with personal planets,especially in the hard aspects.

Sedna/Sun–You have difficulty understanding why you can’t find your “place” in the world. Your ego drives seem to miss the mark over and over again, where you either go too far, or not far enough in achieving personal goals."

*sigh* Yeah.

"Every once in a while you get a client where nothing is quite right and then again nothing is quite wrong either. As with all the transplutonian bodies, we are working with extra dimensional realities. We have no earthly frame of reference to make sense of the circumstances, let alone the results. Now that these dwarf planets have revealed themselves, we have access to their energies, but we have a way to go before we understand they work in our lives.
Because Sedna’s trip around the Sun is so long, every person alive has Sedna in Aries or Taurus. This makes it easy to find it in the chart, but it obscures the meaning of your Aries or Taurus point. With Aries you were never taught to defend yourself properly. Either you are unable to defend yourself or you go into overkill mode. With Taurus, resources were withheld from you as you were growing up, leaving you to feel like you don’t deserve the financial resources you need. Consequently, you over consume to compensate for these feelings.

Sedna in aspect to the Sun–With Sedna in the fifth you always feel like your creative endeavors are not good enough. Oh you certainly try, but your ultimate disastifaction with your attempts leaves you with a sense of frustration. For you you must get engaged in the process and stop trying to judge your results. The same thing goes for romance, because romance is about a creative process as it gets.

Whee.

Sedna in the Seventh–Understand that the concept of partnership is formed in the early years by a having a bonded relationship with a parent. The parent has one contract, to nurture the child, the child another, to grow up into a productive human being. Somewhere along that developmental tract, those contracts were voided and as a result, your sense of partnership is seriously skewed. Either you abrogate your responsibilities to your partner or you take on way too much of the work of the relationship. If you end up in therapy over your relationship, listen to your therapist very carefully, because they understand what you need to do better than you.

Mine is skewed indeed. Yeah, can't deny it.

Taurus:

Last year when I was starting to write my 2008 calendar, I drew up 300 charts for all 12 full moons and 13 new moons times 12 signs, and my attention was immediately drawn to this month's new moon, May 5. Scorpio:

Everything begins with the advent of the new moon May 5. Watch closely what events are happening in your life on or in the week that follows that date. You may be ready to sign papers to make an ongoing, fledgling relationship strong and binding in an artistic or business partnership.

This month the full moon on May 19 will fall in Scorpio in a late degree, which is remarkable. Last month, the full moon fell on April 19, in an early degree of Scorpio. Two full moons in a row, both falling in Scorpio, is both unusual and special, for it points to how much the cosmic limelight is shining on you, dear Scorpio. This full moon will send beautiful vibes to both Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, and to Uranus, the planet of out-of-the-blue surprise. Not only will you see things go your way, but the universe seems to have hidden a few cosmic goodies to toss your way when you least expect them to come.

Even if you weren't born near November 19, you may have other planets at 29 degrees of a water or earth sign (or close to that degree) that will be triggered. If you have your natal chart, you can look to see if you do, but if not, don't sweat it - just wait and see. This kind of luck will be obvious. Uranus, the planet that loves to bring surprises, will align perfectly with Venus, planet of love, over the weekend of May 17-18. This is sure to be a red-hot weekend for every Scorpio, no matter what your marital status. If you are single you could easily feel the zing of Cupid's arrow.

I'm going on vacation during Mercury retrograde. Can't be helped- I very specifically cannot go earlier or later than that particular week.

Normally MR doesn't do squat to me because I have it natally and thus those periods are like "normal" to me, but if it's really affecting all transportation, that might screw me because it's screwing everyone else. Ugh.
