I know what you're thinking. Hey...that sounds like a Westlife song. Yes. It is indeed. Okay no it isn't. It's actually a Backstreet Boys song. More specifically 'I promise you,' which I somehow thought was Westlife's "Swear it again."
Not that either of songs really illustrate much significance. Exactly. But although, it does seem like a lot of people I've been talking to lately, friends and otherwise - are going through a breakup and that song/those songs just filled my head.
A friend of mine who I thought was still in a relationship informed me today that in fact, he isn't. Something I found somewhat a surprise. But then again, you never really assume otherwise, at least I don't unless its listed somewhere or I am told otherwise.
And yesterday, at James' birthday. I stumbled upon someone else who also recently had the same experience. Sure, people break up all the time and it because it seems like certain people are doesn't not indicate everyone is.
Ironically since I was in high school I always thought that summertime is the PERFECT time for any relationship, in fact, a time that I wish I had a relationship because it meant that it wouldn't have that much influence on other aspects of my life - more specifically, school. Thus, tack on stress and such, because in the end, everyone knows, that school is ultimately MUCH more important than relationships. (At least in my opinion, although, it doesn't mean that I was able to always hold that outlook - thus the summer thing). Because let's face it, being in a relationship with someone or even just being interested in someone is an emotional experience.
It is distracting and thus, makes it a lot harder to focus on anything else sometimes. As for myself. I am single. (Man, that sounds like a disease sometimes) so I've been unfortunate enough to experience the "better to have loved than lost" scenario right now.
I have been thinking about relationships and - and I don't know. All of this "ending" makes everything seem so difficult and absolute. Kind of scary...kind of. I mean really makes
]]>When is okay to lie?
We seem to think that in the preservation of morality for reasons of sensibility and normalcy that lying becomes a necessary mean to keep everything peachy. Morality is a variable that changes with situation, survival and even evolution and is used selfishly whether we want to believe it or not. I guess my answer is: Lying is never okay and is always a defamation of you no matter how much you can back it up. The way you think about anything and everything is what makes you who you are for better or worse, and trying to believe otherwise will only do you and others harm.
I've learned a lot about this in the past few years.
