Pondering
Off-topic: last year I went to a hippie conference for the first time. They had no astrology talks whatsoever, though I am told that varies from year to year.
I have registered for the second year, and a friend/mentor of mine has suggested that I apply to do a presentation at it. She also thinks I should teach a class in general, but I refuse to teach beginner astrology information that you could get out of ANY book ("Virgos are fussy, Tauruses like to eat, never fuck with a Scorpio," etc), and the crowd that she has in mind would definitely have to start at very, very beginner. I am way bored of beginner. With regards to the conference, I am all, um...I have NO credentials to do such. I don't work in astrology for pay, I have no publication credentials, I have no "street cred" in this particular arena to recommend me. Literally, all I have done is read a metric asston of books on very nitpicky topics. I took one beginner class online that was required to move on to the advanced stuff and was so terribly bored with beginner that I never bothered to take the advanced class.
I should probably mention that my friend did a presentation at this thing last year, and according to her she has no "street cred" either. To which I said yeah, you haven't published, but you've done more official study and would have things to list in a bio. I would literally have nothing and no one to recommend me. So it seems...dubious.
On the other hand, it would be interesting to talk about my usual favorite subjects around here, i.e. Saturn, karmic astrology/nodes and/or synastry.
Hm.
