This month's Practical Astrology

(As usual, this isn't up on her actual site yet. Sigh.) Clearly, my crappy issues with certain people will be continuing.

TAURUS

The sun this month is in subjective Cancer, where he'll be wanting to to communicate with everyone around you in a very feeling manner about...feelings. This is generally quite a good thing, and it can help you work effectively with all kinds of people. Indeed, this is a decidedly UN-agitated solar month and well worth taking advantage of. The entire month is also quite good for meeting new people as well as chatting up the people you already know. Feel free to pursue making some new friends, acquaintances, and contacts if you are so inclined.

 

If there's going to be a fly in the ointment, it will probably come courtesy of Mars in Virgo. Although he may not cause you any problems here (he is in good angle to your sun), if he does the most likely suspects would be conflicts with with lovers and children (or perhaps lovers with children!). Saturn's been putting the pressure on you vis a vis these kinds of relationships for awhile now. If tension and anger have built up, Mars is probably going to feel like he can't stand it anymore, he's just got to say something!

 

If things do get irritating in July or August, consider that you're probably going to need to achieve a balance between your short-term emotions and the big picture. Do your best to think things through before pulling the trigger or delivering an ultimatum. Don't give up on anyone just yet, for there are rewards to be had for persisting and working things through.

SCORPIO

From July 1, you enter into one of your best periods for aggressively working to resolve conflicts with your friends. If Saturn in Virgo has been doing his job, a few conflicts with people you thought you could trust have been building up. You may even have experienced a betrayal or two. But here's the thing--Saturn's just been testing your allies to see who your true friends are.

 

So if any of your buddies have fallen short of the mark, now's the time to to have it out with them. But don't neglect the other side of the coin, opening your eyes to all of the new people who can be or want to be your friends if you'll just let them. The sun in Cancer in your solar 9th house encourages you to broaden your horizons. Perhaps you can bond with new, more suitable companions by exercising your intellect and taking courses or studying a new subject.

 

In the big picture, you are being given a planetary gift this year--a gift of freedom. You can do what you want to do if you'll let go of attachments to old dreams and the folks you used to share them with.
