I have been looking at this natal aspect of late as a significator of weirdness (maybe even akin to Uranus rising, but less noticeable?), so I perked up to find this study of how the Jupiter Uranus conjunction in Aquarius in 1997 affected those with natal suns there.
(Also, one of my exes qualified in that category. This was the year before I met him, but I think that was when he and his wife were splitting up. So, I guess that qualifies for "interesting year."
Your chart has significant challenges literally written right into it. Your moon is in challenge aspect to the asteroid Chiron, a potent symbol of issues that cry out for healing. Your Moon is opposite the planet of your survival instincts, Mars, and Mars is also in challenge aspect to Chiron. What this symbol says to me is that you are driven by powerful emotions that are often at cross purposes with you own best interests. In other words, you let your heart rule your head. While we are often admonished to listen more to our hearts and less to our heads, in your situation this is rather like doing too much of a good thing. Why? Because Chiron is sitting there, challenging your heart and your survival instincts to make some intrinsic changes in how you operate.
How do you operate? With three planets in the sign of Leo in your tenth house of career and public image, you like to work from center stage. You take great pride in how you handle your life, and you can be prideful in the choices you’ve made. You need the attention of others, and when you don’t get it in the measure you feel you deserve you tend to feel let down and even depressed. There is nothing sadder than a Leo who feels that they aren’t appreciated. Certainly, in a situation where you hauling all the freight, doing all the work in and out of the home, taking care of the emotional, physical and financial work of taking care of a family, there literally is not enough appreciation in the world that is going to feel like you are getting what you deserve. Yet you can, from the challenge from your Moon to your Uranus/Venus combination sitting in the the tenth house close to your Sun, be quite stubborn in insisting on keep on a course of action, even if it is apparent that course simply isn’t working."
I have some of this myself, but mainly this letter reminds me of a friend of mine with two autistic kids and a similarly difficult life, with Chiron issues.
Man, if they were published in America, I'd go look...
"What do Jupiter and Saturn signify in our birth charts? Do they rule "malefic" or "fortunate" houses? Are they dignified? If Jupiter in the nativity is retrograde, in Capricorn and rules the 12th house, then I cannot expect him to bring me any luck. On the other hand, if I have a well-dignified Saturn, I need not fear. Saturn is never pleasant, that's not his nature, but when he is in form, he's extremely just and fair.
Then, we should take into account the sign the two transiting planets happen to be in and how that sign resonates with our chart. If, for example, the signs Virgo or Capricorn dominate in our chart or if Saturn is particularly strong, it is inevitable that we dislike Jupiter. Jupiter doesn't just shower us with gifts, but requires something in return. And that is FAITH. Which is something the two aforementioned signs lack. You have to believe that you deserve good things to happen to you, that life can and should be easy from time to time. I'm afraid that Virgos and Capricorns (I'm not talking about individuals here, but about the energy of these two signs) generally mistrust anything that isn't a direct result of hard effort. They tend to be suspicious of anything that comes easy to them and they are always looking for faults. From Jupiter's point of view however, that's ingratitude. So, why should he bother? The fire signs, on the other hand, appreciate whatever Jupiter offers them. They have a natural enthusiasm, they willingly embrace life and hate difficulties even to the point of laziness. When Jupiter comes along therefore, they are thrilled.
By contrast, if you have many planets in Cancer or in Leo, then in all likelihood you are going to hate Saturn. Even if nothing significant happens during a Saturn transit, it's still safe to say that you are not going to jump up and down with joy. You may read in the astrological predictions for your sign that this is a good time to lose weight, for example. No, it isn't. Some of you may feel so depressed that you rush to the fridge and devour everything in it. Your friend the Capricorn, however, will manage to lose 40 pounds when Saturn conjuncts his Sun."
Very good points there.
I wonder if that applies to all T-square folks?
I wouldn't say I'm a trouble magnet, but definitely weirdness/drama magnet. Yesterday was a surprisingly weird day for a weekday for me, between the stoners and the witches I was hanging out with. Today during lunch instead of hanging out in nature the way I have been doing, I took off to the bookstore (figured I should avoid the nature just in case) and went out to find a book for dealing with weird things. We'll see how that goes.
Leo guy: "I'm a Leo! I'm a Leo! Look, I have a lion on my skateboard!"
PIsces guy: "Man, I'm so glad I'm not a Leo so I don't act like that."
Taurus girl (me): *quietly snickering throughout the whole thing*
So...I decided to write up profiles for Henry and Clare from The Time Traveler's Wife. (Wanted to write up uh, a third character, but that would be heavy spoiling.)
So, Henry: born June 16, 1963, Chicago, Illinois. This chart doesn't show a birth time, but I'd guess him to have an Aquarius ascendant, born 10:40 p.m., so that he has Uranus/Pluto in the 8th house and Jupiter in the 7th. Really, that guy SHOULD have that there.
- North Node Aries: his life goal is to learn self-sufficiency (well, yeah, in spades), and to get away from his partnerships. Literally.
- Saturn at 23 Aries, loosely conjunct NN: learning via hard knocks method.
- Sun/Mercury/Venus/Mars all conjunct in Gemini (late degrees). Neptune in Scorpio quincunxes all that. Quincunxes have been described as a see-saw, and that seems to fit H&C's relationship to pining for each other.
- He's of the Uranus/Pluto generation, it squares his giant conjunction and opposes his Pisces moon. This stands out to me as being his dead mom issues, unexpected death, an opposition in himself that he never got over.
I would guess Clare to be an Aries ascendant, 2:55 a.m., so that Uranus is in Libra in the 7th and her Jupiter/Neptune conjunction lines up in the 8th, and her Sun/Saturn/Moon are in the 2nd since that girl has money coming both ways. Seems appropriate to me.
- Grand Air Trine- Mars in Aqua, Uranus in Libra, Sun/Moon in Gemini. Trines are supposed to be lucky, and I guess in some ways Claire has been. Money isn't an issue for her, and she met the love of her life at age 6.
- Venus and Mercury conjunct in Taurus, quincunx Uranus in Libra. Sun/Moon trine Uranus as well. Big time Uranus for her in life, particularly with unexpected events with regards to love. When it comes to male sexual attraction, she prefers the unusual (Mars in Aquarius).
- Jupiter/Neptune conjunction-- luck and pining. If I was guessing on placements I'd want to stick this in the 8th house of other people's money, since Henry's getting ahold of it is how she survives, plus her family's kinda loaded. Well, maybe second would work for that too.
- Aquarius North Node with loose Mars conjunction. Aquarius tends to be a more independent sign as well, so it's also somewhat forced upon her.
- Claire has Sun and Moon conjunct Saturn = hard upbringing with her parents.
Henry and Clare are both Geminis, though their Gemini conjunctions don't line up. Strange. Oh well, they'd be pretty similar in their preferences. Henry thinks faster than Claire does with her Mercury/Venus being in Taurus rather than Gemini. Good thing this guy can think fast and lie if he has to, since he often has to. Venus in Taurus has loyalty, which Claire does, but it's tied to pining (Neptune) and unusual and unexpectedness (Uranus). I guess that fits for her, because on some level she likes that.
In the composite they have Venus/Neptune, Venus/Uranus, Venus/Pluto
Taurus (April 19- May 20)
I don’t think we can ever question the theme of self-esteem carefully enough. First a simple definition: self-esteem is how we feel about ourselves that influences every other aspect of existence, what we do, how we feel, how we relate to others and how we judge our worth. Putting it mildly, this has been a theme for you lately: specifically that you seem to have two entirely different opinions of yourself, that you try to maintain simultaneously. What tends to happen is that you alternate from one value system to the other; one judgment or evaluation to the other. Lately the split grows worse if you aim your ambition upward; in a sense this inner division is revealed when you aspire to something better than you currently have. This does make sense; if you want something better you’re going to tend to evaluate whether you deserve it or not. I’m here to tell you that one side of the story is not inherently true. It was taught to you initially, and you continue to teach it to yourself: this, through any experience of guilt. If you experience guilt, you can be sure of one thing — you are responding to someone’s early conditioning. You are playing back an old tape that says you’re powerless; and it will help if you recognize this fact and see if you can determine who put it into you. Then, take it as a question rather than as a true statement.
